Current beauty picks

January is one of my favourite times of the year. To me it's a clean canvas; ready for me to create it into whatever I want. This January I found some new little bits that I am absolutely loving!! Some being new purchases and others I discovered shopping my lovely over the top makeup stash. Above you can see some of my best bits! (My beauty bits, don't be getting any wrong ideas now, tut tut!).

Chanel makeup is so beautiful it hurts..it is also so expensive that it hurts!! This little beauty is Chanel blush in evocation, and will set you back a hefty £31 (Ouch, it seems worse when you write it down). But this is the most stunning pinky-brown! To me it's a more pigmented and slightly darker version of Nars Madly (an absolute frikkin beautyyyy). It creates a polished and sculpted look and I have been loving this cheek with my darker vampy winter pout!

Mac paint pot in Bare study! This was one of my 'shop my stash' goodies. I never really used it much before but discovered this again in the last week or so. I have been using this alone with some mascara on my early starts where I have little time to do anything more. On days I want to be a little more arty wartsy with eyes I have been using this as a base and over top applying the shadows from the beauty that is Naked palette 3! Colours I have been using listed below!!

Here it is! The palette everyone and their mum has been taking about. You guys probably don't need to read any more on it and how amazing it is! ha I have been using the shadows here over top my bare study paint pot to create a more metallic eye look (face of the day coming soon). I have been mostly leaning towards Buzz and Trick mixed together over the bare study on the lid, and some of the buzz in my inner corners. Then using darkside and blackheart if I want a more dramatic eye, or MAC's texture for a softer eye. This metallic wet look shadow looks amazing with some liner! Super sassssy and sexy!

Another couple of products I have been loving are Chanel Lift lumiere and a Lush lip scrub! Chanel foundations are just so delicious, but only if you use the right one for your skin type. This isn't one that I have really heard much about but was recommended it by the lovely lady at the Chanel counter at my local debenhams. It has the perfect medium coverage which looks absolutley flawless especially when paired with  my Nars creamy concealer. It doesn't make my t-zone overly greasy and gives me a healthy glow.

I have been also wearing alot of darker colours on my lips as the weather is getting colder. The lush lip scrub has been a life saver. It gets my rough lips all scrubbed and luscious. The perfect way to get a sexy winter pout ;)

These have been some of my Jan picks till now! But I hope you enjoyed reading. Do comment with any requests or questions :)

Makeup- heat wave edition!

Makeup picks- Heatwave Edition!

I am sure loads of you guys and gals out there are absolutely loving the glorious (hot hot hot) sunshine (burn rays) that has hit England! But I also know that loads of you (including me) are trying to find a way to look presentable without all our bloody makeup melting off the face!! (I'm meltingggggggggggg.....)

So today I have for you a few of my best picks to keep my makeup looking fresh & radiant throughout a hot and humid day.

1) A GOOOOOD PRIMER!

This is the number 1 product I would recommend if you feel like your makeup slides off during the day in the heat (especially for you fellow oily skinned gals out there, i feel your pain). A good primer will do multiple things, it acts as a barrier between your skincare and your makeup making it less likely that your pores get clogged (yaaaaayyyy).

A good primer also fills in pores and fine lines (this one is for the more mature ladies out there). But lastly and most importantly a primer will prolong the life of your foundation on the face, keep it looking fresh and stop oil breaking through and avoid making you look like a grease ball!!

Here are some of my suggestions:

2) A SETTING SPRAY

If you already use a good primer this isn't necessary, however it will prolong the life of your makeup. Try using Urban decay's setting sprays...they are cool and refreshing to spritz on your face in the heat and have the added bonus of making your foundation looking fabulous!

3) AN OIL FREE FOUNDATION/ TINTED MOISTURISER/ BB CREAM / CC CREAM (sooo many options!)

In the summer when it is hot and humid even you dry skinned girls & guys out there will find that your t-zone can get a little shiny (aka disco ball!). Using an oil free formula will decrease the grease on your face and keep your face looking fresh longer. Oil free formulations of foundation are usually always more long wearing.

Hope you enjoy this post!
More summer posts coming sooon (with pictures!)

Thankyou :)
